To Brussels Airport (BRU)
We strongly suggest traveling to Brussels Airport (BRU) as this is the most convenient way to continue your journey to the conference venue. There is a train station at the lowest level of Brussels Airport and there is a direct train from Brussels Airport station to Hasselt station: it leaves every hour during the week and every two hours during the weekend. You can also take the train to Leuven and change train there to go to Hasselt.

More information and timetables can be found on the website of the Belgian Rail Company NMBS/SNCB. You must buy a ticket at the train station prior to boarding the train. Tickets can be purchased at the ticketing machines or service desk at the station and cost €16.70 (including the Diablo surtax for trains from and to Brussels Airport).

Once arrived in Hasselt Railway Station, you can take the bus (BP - Boulevard Pendel or line 45, 36 or 20A) to Hasselt University - Campus Hasselt. Get off at Dusartplein. Alternatively, you can also walk to the venue, as it is only 1.3km from the train station.

To Charleroi Airport (CRL)
For those arriving at Charleroi Airport (CRL), the easiest way to reach Hasselt is to take the Brussels City Shuttle, which takes you to Brussel-Zuid/Bruxelles-Midi Railway station in about 55 minutes. From there, you can take the train to Hasselt. Tickets for the shuttle bus are maximum €14.20 for a single trip. The total journey by train towards Hasselt is of around 1 hour. More information and timetables can be found on the website of the Belgian Rail Company NMBS/SNCB. Tickets can be purchased at the ticketing machines or service desk at the station and cost €13.40.

Arrival by Train
Those arriving in Brussels by international train (such as ICE, Thalys, Eurostar) will typically arrive in Brussel-Noord/Bruxelles-Nord or Brussel-Zuid/Bruxelles-Midi Railway station.

At both stations, trains towards Hasselt are available. The total journey by train is of around 1 hour.
